I grew up with relatives who lived across the country, and when vacation time arrived, my parents always took us to the same city where our relatives lived. We had a lot of fun visiting our relatives and enjoying the ocean, since they lived near the water. When I became older and had a family of my own, we decided to take beach vacations a few times to have fun. However, I quickly realized that I was missing out on a great way to educate my children about different cultures and states by taking them to the same location each year. Soon, we made it a goal to work education into each and every vacation, and we know visit a new destination each year as a learning experience.
